S-M-I-L-E Song Visual

We have been diligently working on building up visuals for our younger classes to be available in the teacher workroom.  We have found this is one of the reasons people are hesitant to teach - either lack of materials/visuals or a disorganized workroom (more on this later).

We firmly believe preparation and study is key to having an effective Bible class. Having said that, we realize that everyone has encountered having to teach a class on the fly on occasion.  It has happened to all of us - whether it is filling in for someone else, or maybe you have prepared and are just a little shy of activities to complete the allotted class time.

We want to provide the teachers at our congregation some quick grab type visuals to enhance their classes.  Songs are a perfect way to introduce a lesson/concept or reinforce a lesson/concept.  And littles always enjoy singing.  They don't even mind if you sing off tune!  :)

Melissa digitized an idea originally found in Sarah Richey's book, Singing with Visuals Vol 3 that can be purchased here.  This is perfect for the littles - cradle roll to Kindergarten.  We even sing this song in Bible Adventures class (1st-5th grade) and plan to implement these visuals the next time we sing this song!

The visual can be printed out on card stock, or astrobrite paper.  Laminate for durability, then add magnets, velcro or flannel to the backs and use as a flipchart, or use with a magnetized whiteboard or flannel board.  They could even be attached to large popsicle sticks and allow the children hold up the correct visual that corresponds to the verse.
