Application Lesson on Faith

On Sunday evenings for the past several weeks we have been studying about the Major & Minor Prophets that lived during the three time periods (Assyrian, Babylonian & Persian time periods).  The students have learned the theme that repeats through all of the time periods - idol worship and apathetic worship.

Tonight our lesson was more of an application style and we tied all of it together by building a fire during class.

Each student helped and we pretended to warm ourselves by the fire.  We discussed the effort that is needed to build a proper fire.  We talked about how we build a fire and how to maintain it so that it does not go out.

We discussed how we do not want to just go through the motions when we worship our Lord and how we can be an encouragement to others.  We applied this to our faith.  While the history of the Major & Minor Prophets can be a challenging topic to teach to children (especially the historical part)
they certainly grasped the concept tonight!

We are always praying that our children stay faithful to God.  We know faith doesn't just happen.
